John M. Garrick
For more than 25 years, John Garrick has provided his clients with tough and effective representation. His litigation and trial practice extends to all aspects of complex litigation, including labor and employment, wage and hour class action, funeral and cemetery, real estate, product liability, alcohol and beverage, antitrust and first amendment law. He counsels private and public employers in their employment relationships and often works closely with management in all facets of their business. He and his team helped eliminate an excessive number of lawsuits at a 600-employee company by successfully obtaining a series of defense verdicts by summary judgment, arbitration, and trial. The resulting chilling effect ended an ongoing and expensive problem. He manages and oversees much of the California litigation of one of the world's largest owners of cemetery and funeral homes. He has successfully defended numerous product liability cases that were part of California's complex litigation docket. He has successfully defended complex, multi-party antitrust suits. And, he represented former counsel to the President, John Dean and his wife, Maureen Dean, in their defamation suit against St. Martin's Press, Gordon Liddy and others.
Mr. Garrick received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Los Angeles where he was a Regent's Scholar and Director of the campus film program. He received his JD from the University of Utah where he graduated with honors and received American Jurisprudence Awards in Civil Procedure and International law.
